The limestone formations known as the Pinnacles were mistaken for the ruins of an ancient city by Dutch sailors in 1700. Situated 17 kilometres south of the town of Cervantes in Western Australia, the Pinnacles are located within Nambung National Park and are visited by more than 250,000 people each year.
